OrcaMail: Free and Pro

What is free, and what is in Pro?

Free covers one account with mail, calendar and contacts, offline use, search, privacy protection, the app lock and push through your own relay. Pro adds any number of accounts in one inbox, OrcaMail Push, Send Later, Snooze, highlights, translation on your device, compose from the Mac menu bar and settings synced over iCloud.

What does Pro cost?

€1.99 a month or €19.99 a year in Germany. Prices may vary by country; the App Store shows yours before you buy.

How does the free month work, and how do I cancel?

New subscribers get the first month free. If you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, you pay nothing. Cancel in Settings > your name > Subscriptions on iPhone or iPad, or in the App Store on the Mac.

What happens when Pro ends?

OrcaMail keeps working with one account, which you choose. Other accounts are paused, not deleted, and come back when you renew. Messages already scheduled with Send Later still go out.

Do I need Pro for notifications?

No. A relay of your own next to your server is free. OrcaMail Push is the option with nothing to set up.

Can my family use Pro?

Yes. With Family Sharing, up to five family members use your subscription at no extra cost.

OrcaMail: getting started

Which mail servers does OrcaMail work with?

OrcaMail works with servers that speak JMAP. It is developed and tested against Stalwart, and it works with Fastmail for mail and contacts (Fastmail offers no calendars to other apps). Classic IMAP-only services such as Gmail or iCloud Mail are not supported.

How do I sign in?

Choose your kind of server, enter its address and sign in with an app password. For Fastmail, paste an API token from Fastmail's settings. With Pro you can add as many accounts as you like.

Why do I not get notifications while the app is closed?

On iPhone and iPad, instant notifications come through OrcaMail Push, which is part of Pro, or through a relay of your own next to your server, which is free. Without either, OrcaMail still updates as soon as you open it. On the Mac it stays up to date while it is running.

OrcaMail: everyday use

Can I use OrcaMail offline?

Yes. Read, search, flag, file and write without a connection. Your changes are saved on the device and sent in order once you are back online.

Why are images in some messages missing?

Remote images are blocked by default because they can be used to track when you open a message. Tap Load Remote Images to show them once, or trust the sender to always show them.

Can I take back a message I just sent?

Yes. With Undo Send, a message waits for a few seconds before it goes out. Choose how long in Settings.
